West End Green Home Page Main Image

The scheme, originally known as West End Green, became to be known as West End Gate to highlight its proximity to the prestigious postcodes of Marylebone and Mayfair and accessibility to London's vibrant West End.

West End Gate is a 2.66 acre site on Edgware Road, just north of the Westway. It has been an under-occupied, temporary car park and car wash for the last 25 years.

Berkeley purchased the site in September 2015. Since then, we have engaged with Westminster City Council and the local community to obtain planning consent for;

  • 652 new homes
  • 126 affordable homes on site
  • Accommodation arranged across a series of mansion blocks with a tower element at the south end of the site
  • 7 commercial retail spaces introduced along Edgware Road
  • Office space on Church Street
  • High quality public realm and residents garden

Construction is planned to commence as soon as possible.

Planning Application Update

An application has been made to incorporate the former electrical store, 283 Edgware Road, into the scheme. This additional land will allow for significant improvements to public realm, creating a much more aesthetically pleasing entrance to the development, along with a larger restaurant which will help to attract a high quality operator.

The application is available here, by entering reference number 16/07226/FULL
